JAMMU, July 14: The people from Jawahar Nagar and Manhas Mohalla held protest demonstration against Power Development Department for imposing long power cuts in Rajouri town here today.
The agitating people raised barricades and disrupted movement of vehicles for about one and half hour. They were shouting slogans against the PDD staff and local administration. The people alleged that even after directions by the District Administration to ensure uninterrupted power supply during the month of Ramzan, long power cuts are being imposed in the town. During early morning and in the evening, there is often no power supply and the people have been left to suffer.
Later, AC Revenue Paramjit Singh and DySP Hqs Hamid Choudhary arrived there and they pacified the public. Then they lifted dharna on their assurance.
