RAJOURI, July 15: Residents of Palma and adjoining areas held strong protest demonstration against PHE authorities for water scarcity in the area.
Residents of the area came out on the road at around 11 am and raised barricades at Palma. They started shouting slogans against PHE authorities at Rajouri. The movement of traffic came to halt with the public protest on the road. The people alleged that during these hot summer days, they have been deprived of potable water and moreover no alternate water supply is being ensured.
Later, SHO Rajouri, Yash Pal Jamwal reached there and he pacified the agitating people. He also talked to the PHE officers of the area. Later, people lifted dharna at around 12 noon.
