POONCH, Dec 30: The people today held protest demonstration against the CAPD and revenue authorities and blocked Poonch-Loran road at Mandi town today.
The people including mostly NC workers came out at Tehsil office complex and finding no senior officer put lock on the main gate and then sat on dharna on the road near bridge. They were shouting slogans against CAPD and Revenue authorities for not including name of their family members in the newly prepared ration cards. They said that CAPD is preparing ration cards as per 2011 census while children born after 2011 and daughters- in-law are not being included in the lists. They said that over four years have passed after 2011 now and as per new survey conducted by DCs, the lists be prepared and ration cards provided to the people.
They were shouting slogans against DC Poonch, ACR, Tehsildar Mandi and Assistant Director CAPD and Tehsil Supply Officer, Mandi. Later, former MLA Ajaz Jan reached there and pacified the agitating people and assured them to take up the issue with the higher authorities.
