KISHTWAR, Dec 22: Kishtwar observed bandh and massive protest following call given by Sanatan Dharam Sabha (SDS) Kishtwar against the targeted killing of Hindus in Bangladesh and selective attack on their assets.
Protest was joined by leaders of various social, religious and political organisations including LOP and MLA Padder Nagseni Sunil Sharma.
Following bandh call most of the shops remained closed till 1.00 PM and traffic was also affected for some time.

Since early morning demonstration raising anti Bangladesh and anti Yunus slogans gathered at Kokila Chowk and besides sitting on dharna also burnt tyres resulting in stoppage of traffic in the area.
President Sanatan Dharam Sabha (SDS), Kishtwar, Mahant Ram Saran Dass, LoP, Sunil Sharma and others addressed the protestors and showed their concern over recent developments in Bangladesh. They said that that mob lynching and brutal killing of Hindus is matter of great concern and every Sanatani is hurt with all this. They said that lynching of Hindu Worker Dipu Chandra Das in Bangladesh has sent shockwaves across the region.
” We are sending a message that every Hindu every Sanatani of this region stands firmly with those Hindu brothers of Bangladesh who are being killed and attacked there ” said Sunil Sharma replying to questions of media.
Dharna protest concluded with burning of effigy of Bangladesh Chief Advisor Muhammed Yunus. Later a memorandum for Government of India was also submitted to District Administration demanding immediate stepping into the issue on Extern Affairs Ministry level to protect minority Hindus in Bangladesh.
