UDHAMPUR, Aug 20: Water crises forced irate residents of Rathian including children and women to come out in protest against PHE Department, today.
The residents of Rathian held strong demonstration against Chief Engineer PHE Office Jammu for turning blind eye towards their woes. Protesting residents said that PHE Department Chief Engineer staff didn’t given any attention towards the problem being faced by them regarding request for grant of funds for water supply scheme to Rathian area apart from recommendation by Public Health Engineering Minister Sham Lal Sharma.
The protesters revealed that “we are neglected continuously since Independence apart from the fact that we are living in new developing colony Rathian in the heart of the city and touching four way National Highway where there was not any source of water apart from unconstructed road which remain on papers where even water tanker is not reached”.
Adding they said that why Government is waiting for protests to fulfill genuine demands of public. They said that Minister of PHE Department Sham Lal Sharma very strongly recommended and sanction the due estimate of new water supply scheme Rathian in our favour but the file with complete formalities rests on the Chief Engineer office PHE Departments and the concerned officials opting delaying.
The residents of Rathian also threaten that if our peaceful protest didn’t succeed in communicating our voice to the concerned our protest will take the shape of indefinite hunger strike and Government and concerned are responsible for any loss which include precious life’s.
