MENDHAR, Apr 14: The local traders, Sumo operators and other people held protest against the RDD authorities and Sub Divisional Administration for their failure to ensure cleanliness at Bus Stand and main market.
The people raised slogans against RDD and Panchayat department for not ensuring lifting of the garbage in routine manner. They alleged that several heaps of garbage are lying unattended at local Bus Stand for the last many weeks. The dead bodies of two dogs have also dumped there. It has made the life of people and traders besides operators a hell.
They pointed out that Local Block Development authorities are charging Adda fee from the vehicles and raising handsome amount as revenue but they are not using this amount for the cleanliness and development of the area. The people also demanded that Municipal Committee status be provided to the Mandhar town.
Later, the agitating people moved to the SDM Thakur Sher Singh and submitted a memorandum. The SDM directed the BDO Mendhar to ensure proper cleanliness in the area or face action.
