MENDHAR, Aug 29: The students from Govt High School, Sagra along with their parents today held strong protest at Tehsil Headquarters, Mankote against the State Education authorities.
The students assembled near Tehsil office complex and started protest at round 8 am. They were shouting slogans against CEO and DyCEO Poonch, Director School Education Jammu besides Minister for Education Naeem Akhtar and his junior minister- Priya Sethi.
The parents alleged that during this year out of 68 students of class 10 th only seven were passed out while last year out of 65 only 5 were successful. The result of this school was very low and senior officers did not bother about it. They said many posts of teachers are lying vacant and they are not filled up. Math teacher is not available for many months. There are 350 students and only eight rooms are in the school. One is occupied as office and another one as store and Lab. Only five rooms are available for running 10 classes.
They blocked road for about three hours. Later, Tehsildar Shahzad Khan and SHO Mendhar arrived there and they pacified the agitating students and assured to take up the matter with CEO. The students then lifted dharna.
