SRINAGAR, Apr 8: Scores of people today staged a protest in Kupwara district of north Kashmir against the disappearance of a local businessman in Jalandhar area of neighbouring Punjab.
The protesters who assembled in Kupwara Town said one Maqsood Ahmad Shah, son of Dilawar Shah, resident of Thindipora village of Kralpora in the district is missing since April 4 from Malsiya area of Jalandhar.
“He is a Shawl businessman and had gone to Jalandhar four months ago. On April 4, he had gone to collect cash from some of his clients. But since 9 pm of April 4, his phone is constantly switched off and no one is aware about his whereabouts even as his associates tried their best to search him,” said Numberdar, Ghulam Qadir.
