JAMMU, Oct 3: Various organizations held protest demonstrations against the vandalisation of historic and ancient temple of Mata Bargheshekha Bhagwati at Mattan Anantnag by the miscreants two days back and demanded stern action against them.
A strong protest demonstration was held by Kashmiri Pandits, at Suriya Bhawan Paloura under the banner of Martand Tirath Trust to protest against the desecration of ancient Hindu temple at Mattan by miscreants.
The protest was held under the chairmanship of A K Mussa chairman of Shri Martand Tirath Trust and Swami Kumar Ji of Geeta Sartsangh Ashram, Muthi. Vice president of the Trust Bansi Lal Mukhi and its advisor, Rom Ji Bhawano also participated in the protest. The protestors took out a procession from Martand Suriya Bhawan Paloura to Muthi Chowk and back.
Another protest was held at Dogra Chowk here by Rashtriya Bajrang Dal activists led by Rakesh Bajrangi. The protesters shouting slogans against the vandalisation of Hindu temple demanded immediate arrest of culprits and security to all religious places of Hindus in Valley.
A protest was also held by Dogra Front and Shiv Sena here against the vandalisation of temple. The protest was led by the president of Dogra Front and Shiv Sena, Ashok Gupta.
Panun Kashmir (PK) convener, Dr Agnishekhar has also strongly condemned the vandalisation of ancient temple at Mattan and said this is an eye opener for the Government which claims that normalcy has returned in Valley.
Kashmiri Pandit Sabha (KPS) Jammu has unequivocally condemned the highly reprehensible act of Vandalism committed by anti nationals at the holy temple of Mata Bharagshikha Devi in Mattan township of Anantnag district. The Sabha demanded strong action against those responsible for this obnoxious and villainous act which clearly is aimed at creating communal tension in the Valley where the situation was fast returning to normalcy and an environment of peace had started prevailing.
All India Kashmiri Samaj (AIKS) in an emergency meeting of its various affiliates at Delhi, to take the stock of the situation emerging from the tragic and unfortunate desecration of the temple at Mattan strongly condemned the act of vandalisation of holy temple. The meeting urged the UT administration and LG to look into the matter with all seriousness and comprehend the elements behind this heinous crime.
Panun Kashmir, Delhi has also condemned the attack on holy temple at Mattan. The senior PK leader Ramesh Manwati demanded immediate arrest of culprits and exemplary punishment to them besides restoration of sanctity of temple without further delay.
Pt Prem Nath Bhat Memorial Trust chairman, Shiban Khybri and its spokesperson Dr R L Bhat have also strongly condemned the act and alleged that the non seriousness on the part of Government to constitute a Board has been main cause of vandalisation of Hindu shrines in Valley.
Sharika Peeth Sanstha Jammu also strongly condemned the desecration of holy temple of Mata at Mattan by anti social elements. The Sanstha in a meeting today held under the chairmanship of its president, M K Jalali expressed serious concern over this heinous act.
Vishwa Kashmiri Samaj(VKS) has also strongly condemned the attack on Hindu temple. The VKS in a meeting held under the chairmanship of Kiran Wattal appealed the Government to arrest the culprits and give an exemplary punishment to them.
Kashmiri Khatri Hindu Maha Sabha also condemned the attack on temple at Mattan. President of the Sabha, Ramesh Chander said that the act has hurt sentiments of Hindus all over the globe and demanded security of Hindu shrines be ensured in Valley.
