UDHAMPUR, Mar 24: The students of Govt Higher Secondary School Dhanas (Chenani Tehsil) and local villagers held protest demonstration against Education department.
Reports said that the students of the school at Dhanas in Chenani and local villagers assembled at the village and held strong protest demonstration against the J&K School Education authorities and the District Administration.
They were demanding additional class rooms, much needed infrastructure and staff at the school. They said many posts were lying vacant and were not filled up by the CEO and the Director since long.
They alleged that Incharge Principal of the School had given a written report to higher authority in this regard but till date no action has been taken by the authorities at the helm of affairs.
Protesters said that Dhanas school was upgraded in 2019 but it is working in four rooms till date. About 400 students are demanding additional class rooms the students are left with no option other than to have their classes under open sky. Against 11 posts, only three are in place. The education of the students is badly hit. Even there is no boundary wall in the school and no proper toilets for the girl students.
Chief Education Officer Udhampur, PD Sharma when contacted said that he has informed the higher authorities about the matter. Some funds are also kept for the said school.
