Property worth Rs 70L attached in NDPS case in Udhampur

UDHAMPUR, Nov 26: The Jammu and Kashmir Police have attached a property worth Rs 70 lakh belonging to a suspected drug peddler during the investigation of an NDPS case registered at Police Station Rehambal.
Police said the action was taken in case FIR number 135/2025 after it came to light that accused Tariq Hussain, a resident of Chak in Udhampur, owned a residential house constructed on land under Khasra number 1624/1625, allegedly raised through proceeds of narcotics trade.
Officials said the Investigating Officer found sufficient grounds to believe that the property had been acquired from illegal earnings, following which it was attached under Section 68(F) of the NDPS Act for further legal action.
With this attachment, the total value of properties seized by Police in Udhampur this year under NDPS provisions has reached Rs 12.70 crore.
