JAMMU, June 8: Property worth several lakhs got destroyed in fire, which broke out in the first floor of the Maruti Suzuki Showroom near Bakshi Nagar on Jammu-Poonch Highway.
As per police sources, fire broke out on the first floor of the Maruti Suzuki Showroom near Bakshi Nagar.
On getting information, police team rushed to the spot and Department of Fire and Emergency Services was informed.
Acting swiftly over the information, fire fighters along with three fire tenders reached the spot and started operation to douse the flames.
After hectic efforts of around half-an-hour, the fire was brought under control and restricted from spreading to other areas.
In the blaze, property including furniture, record, Air Conditioners (ACs), computers and other items worth several lakhs turned into ashes.
Nowabad police has taken cognizance in this regard and investigation started to ascertain the reason behind the incident.
