Properties of absconding murder accused attached in Khour

JAMMU, Mar 29: Police today attached the immovable properties of three absconding accused persons in Khour area in connection with a murder case registered decades ago.
A police official said the action was taken in compliance with a court order dated February 28, 2026, related to FIR number 03/1996 under section 302 RPC registered at Police Station Khour.
The accused individuals have been identified as Rattan Lal alias Kaku, Dharam Paul, and Kamla Devi, all residents of Chak Malal Village in Tehsil Khour, who had been evading arrest for a long time.
The police official said a police team, along with revenue officials, including the concerned Patwari, reached Chak Malal Village today and carried out the attachment proceedings on the properties falling under Khasra numbers 660 and 661.
During the operations, notices of attachment were pasted at the residences of the accused in the presence of local residents. Public announcements were also made through drum beating to ensure wider awareness.
The police official said the action was carried out strictly as per the legal provisions and in a transparent manner.
