Promote Ayurveda for healthy society: Pathania

JAMMU, Nov 3: Ranbir Singh Pathania, MLA Ramnagar today flagged off the “Run for Ayurveda” organised by Regional Ayurveda Research Institute for Urinary Disorders Jammu here, today. As many as 200 participants ran in this exclusive ‘Run for Ayurveda’ which had been organized by the Research Institute with a view to create awareness about Ayurveda. After conclusion of the half-marathon, prizes were distributed amongst the participants. Also, floral tributes were offered to Bhagwan Dhanwantri Ji in the premises of the Institute.
Pathania after conclusion of the programme, while addressing the participants, staff member as well as prominent members of civil society delivered a scintillating and thought provoking lecture wherein he highlighted that Ayurveda is a 5,000-year-old system of natural healing that has truly stood the test of time. First originating in the Vedic culture of India, it’s actually considered by many to be the oldest healing science.
The primary goal of Ayurvedic medicine is to help people live long, healthy and balanced lives without the need for prescription drugs, complicated surgeries or suffering through painful conditions. In fact, the very word Ayurveda itself means something in Sanskrit similar to “lifespan build on knowledge” or “science of life.”
Although people living in India have relied on traditional Ayurvedic practices to heal everything from infertility to digestive issues for centuries. However in recent years Ayurveda has emerged as complementary and alternative health practices which has become more and more popular across the world – Ayurveda has been enjoying a major worldwide resurgence and is still practiced effectively today. He called upon the community of Ayurvedic doctors and practitioners to act as the “Agent of Change” and promote Ayurveda for the creation of a Healthy Society considering the importance of Ayurveda and other home remedies in curing several prolonged ailments.
Sanjay Kumar Singh, HOD of the Institute presented vote of thanks while Dr Taran Singh, Medical Superintendent, Govt Ayurvedic Hospital, Jammu and Dr Vikram Singh, ADMO Kathua also addressed the gathering.
