SRINAGAR, July 11: Naveed Atiq, son of Mohi-ud-Din Reshi, former Editor of famed Kashmiri Publication of Department of Information and Public Relations, and a prominent writer of the State, got drowned in Badi Lake at Udaipur.
Naveed along with his associates had gone to Badi Lake, 22 kms from Udaipur for picnic. While swimming in the lake, Naveed drowned and despite efforts by his colleagues he could not be saved.
He had recently completed his degree in Hospitality and Hotel Management (H&GA) from Institute of Hotel Management Srinagar and got placement in a Seven Star Hotel Oberoi, Udipur (Rajasthan) where he joined on June 13.
The body of Naveed is expected to be airlifted to his hometown tomorrow.
Member, J&K Public Service Commission, K B Jandial, Director, Information, Zaffar Ahmad and Secretary, Cultural Academy, Khalid Bashir Ahmad visited Reshi and consoled the family members.
