UDHAMPUR, Oct 17: Govt College for Women, Udhampur, in collaboration with Rashtriya Bhasha Prachar Samiti, Jammu, organised a simple but impressive programme to release Prof Shiv Nirmohi’s latest book ‘Duggar Ke Hindi Lekhak’.
On this occasion, renowned writer, acdemician & President, Dogri Sanstha, Jammu, Prof Lalit Magotra was the the chief guest.
Galaxy of literary giants, including Prof Lalit Magotra, Prof Shiv Nirmohi (eminent writer and Padma Shri Awardee), Prof B B Sharma (President, Rashtriya Bhasha Prachar Samiti, Jammu), Arvinder Singh ‘Aman’ Secretary (Retd) J&K Academy of Art, Culture & Languages, Prakash Premi (eminent writer and Sahitya Academy Awardee), Dr Adarsh Prakash (eminent writer), Ashok Sharma (writer & columnist) & Prof Nalini Pathania (Principal, GCW, Udhampur).
Dr.OP Sharma presented a comprehensive paper on the book dwelling on its various aspects. Speaking on the occasion, the dignitaries lauded Prof Nirmohi for his exceptional contribution to literature on myriad aspects and diverse fields of Duggar.They hoped that documentation of this priceless heritage and culture will go a long way in inspiring the youth to know,appreciate, preserve and transmit our rich culture and heritage to the posterity. Prof Nirmohi thanked the College Administration and Rashtriya Bhasha Prachar Samiti, Jammu for organizing the programme in connection with the release of his book.He dwelt at length on the contents of the book and appreciated the writers from Duggar for their valuable contribution in enriching Hindi literature in Duggar.
He said that the book is a tribute to all those writers across Duggar who have contributed in various genres in Hindi. Dr Magotra appreciated Prof Nirmohi for his invaluable contribution to literature in different fields of Dogra Culture and heritage and exhorted the students to read his books. Prof. B B Sharma presented the vote of thanks & programme came to an end.The programme was conducted by Dr Mool Raj and attended by the students and the faculty of the college.
