JAMMU, Sept 24: Dr Dhyan Singh Bhau, Professor of Economics in Jammu University and incumbent Director of the Directorate of Distance Education, JU, passed away this morning after a brief illness.
He was 60 and had been suffering from Cancer for the last few months. He is survived by two sons and wife Priyanka Bhau, who is Assistant Professor in the Centre for Women Studies, Jammu University.
The cremation was held at Jogi Gate Cremation Ground where a large number of people from all walks of life, besides JU employees, scholars and students paid their last respect to the departed soul.
Before taking over as Director Distance Education, he had also served Jammu University as Director Sport and Physical Education, Dean Students Welfare, Chairman Campus Cultural Committee and other significant positions.
