JAMMU, July 30: Jammu and Kashmir Police in Nowabad area have initiated proclamation proceedings under Section 84 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS) against three accused persons absconding in the Gataru murder case.
A police official said the accused-Vikas Slathia alias Vicky Khauff of Samba (kingpin), Vikramjeet Singh of Amritsar (shooter), and Bodh Raj alias Guggi of Ramgarh are wanted in connection with serious charges under BNS and Arms Act.
“Despite multiple efforts, they continue to evade arrest,” he said.
As such, as per legal procedure, notices have been pasted at their residences, and public announcements were made through drum beating in their localities at Satwari, Gurha Slathia, Ramgarh, and Amritsar, directing them to appear before the court and join the investigation, said the police official.
Meanwhile, police have urged the public to share any information regarding the absconders and warned that strict legal action will be taken against anyone found helping or hiding them.
The proclamation proceedings were conducted by teams from Police Station Nowabad led by PSI Vikrant Kotwal and PSI Aziz Tariq under the supervision of senior officers.
