JAMMU, July 2: As a follow up of the historical decision taken by the State Government, Minister of State for Tourism, Culture and Education Priya Sethi today took an initiative and led the two buses with 96 Shri Amarnath pilgrims  to Suchetgarh border area to have a visit of the International border along with Pakistan.
Mrs Sethi was accompanied by Director Tourism, Sushma Chouhan and other senior officers. Talking to media persons on the occasion Sethi termed it a  historical decision of the coalition Government led by Mehbooba Mufti which she said is keen in equal development of the three regions of the State in Tourism Sector also.
She said two buses have been kept at the disposal of Amarnath pilgrims at Yatri Niwas. Out of them, one bus will take them round the site seeing places and historical shrines and temples in Jammu while other will take them to Border areas visit. This will boost the trade and tourism in the region.
Sethi said that border of Jammu has its own peculiarity but unfortunately no attention was paid to develop the border areas for promotion to tourist trade. The credit goes to the PDP-BJP coalition which took an initiative for the first time in the history of the State in this regard.

Sethi said earlier RS Pura in Jammu and Sialkote in Pakistan were hub of trade while Sugar cane factory was in this side of undivided State the sports goods factory was in Sialkote. Besides on the Prince of Wales College pattern another college was in Sialkote area and students of two colleges were holding sports and other competitions.
She said J&K has a rich cultural heritage and with the promotion of border tourism people of other states can also come to know about our rich cultural heritage. She said these pilgrims can become the ambassadors for promotion of tourism in the Jammu region too which has historical Raghunath, Ranbireshwar temples, Bagh-e-Bahu, fort of Akhnoor, Mansar and Surinsar, Jia Pota Ghat, Baba Chamliyal lakes as well as tourist spots like Patnitop, Bhaderwah, Jai, Nor-e-Chamb and Chingas Valley etc.
