Workshop on Deendayal Upadhyay

KATHUA, Feb 18: Senior leaders of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) today addressed a district-level workshop in Kathua held under the ongoing “Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay Prashikshan Mahabhiyan-2026,” focusing on strengthening of organisation, ideological orientation, and capacity-building of party workers.
The workshop was addressed by BJP J&K vice president and former Minister, Priya Sethi, who participated along with BJP Jammu & Kashmir general secretary, Gopal Mahajan, senior leader, Prem Dogra and other party leaders. The event was organised in the presence of district president, Updesh Andotra and witnessed active participation from party functionaries and grassroots workers from across Kathua district.
Speaking on the occasion, Priya Sethi emphasised the importance of structured training programmes in building a strong and disciplined organisation.
She said that the Prashikshan Mahabhiyan aims to equip workers with ideological clarity, effective communication skills, and a deeper understanding of public service.
Highlighting the legacy of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay, she noted that the campaign is rooted in the philosophy of Antyodaya, which focuses on the upliftment of the last person in society. She encouraged party workers to strengthen their connect with the public by addressing local issues with dedication and sensitivity.
Addressing the gathering, Gopal Mahajan underlined the significance of continuous learning and organisational coordination. He stated that such workshops provide an opportunity for party members to exchange ideas, review grassroots challenges, and develop strategies for effective outreach. Mahajan urged workers to remain committed to the principles of good governance, teamwork, and transparency, adding that strong organisational foundations are essential for delivering public welfare initiatives effectively.
BJP district president, Kathua Updesh Andotra welcomed the participants and highlighted the role of local leadership in strengthening the party structure at the booth and Mandal level. She stressed that training initiatives help in building confidence among workers and encourage greater participation of youth and women in political and social activities. Andotra expressed confidence that the knowledge gained during the workshop would further energise the cadre and enhance their ability to serve society.
During the session, Prem Dogra also discussed various organisational topics, including communication strategies, public engagement, leadership responsibilities, and effective implementation of party programmes at the grassroots level.
