Prem Nath Trust shows concern over attack on temple

JAMMU, May 20: Prem Nath Bhat Memorial Trust organised a webinar of its core members to take stock of the recent political developments and also to discuss strategies for the passage of the Temples and Shrines Bill for which the KP community and the Trust is relentlessly struggling for the last more than a decade.
Secretary Sundri Lal Koul apprised the members about the activities of the Trust undertaken in the last one month under lockdown conditions and invited the members to make there presentations and also to suggest their views for the future course of action.
The members expressed concern about a recent act of vandalism towards a temple in Rainawari Srinagar where a petrol bomb was hurled. They said that the previous political dispensations only showed lip sympathy to the cause and the all important bill kept on lingering from one Government to another.
The members expressed dismay that only false promises have been made all along in the past regarding the Passage of the Temples and Shrines Bill. Moreover, with the passage of time and with the uncertain law and order conditions in Kashmir the temples and shrines are at an increased risk of completely vanishing from the eco system of Kashmir.
The members of the Trust who attended the webinar included Roshan Lal Pandita, president PNBMT, Virender Raina President Panun Kashmir,B.L.Bhat Chairman Nagdandi Ashram,H.L.Bhat Executive Temple Committee Tral Anantnag, Sundri Lal Koul, coordinator Hindu Welfare Baradari Vessu,Shadi Lal Koul general secretary PNBMT,Kashmiri Lal Bhat Advocate, Dr.R.L.Handoo, Bansi Lal Zar,Sanjay Pandit president Umabhagvati Asthapan.
Meanwhile president of Durga Nag Trust and former Chief Secretary, Vijay Bakaya said that he took up the issue of attack on temple which is the property of holy Durga Nag shrine with DG Police and the security of the temple has been intensified.
Bakaya has also urged the Government to ensure security of all religious places of Hindus in Valley.
