Prakash, Samooh Theatre to hold 2-days convention on Kashmir Shiva Drishti

JAMMU, Dec 19: Maintain-ing that there is an immense necessity to connect our Gen Next to the great traditions and Shaiv philosophy of  Kashmir Prakash an organisation of reputed Kashmiri Pandit scholars in collaboration with Samooh Theatre is organizing two days convention under the name Udhyamo Bhairava -Kashmir Shiva Drishti at Abhinav Theatre here on December 29 and 30.
Disclosing this at a press conference, here, today, Dr Agnishekhar, Dr Ajay Chrungoo and Shailender Aima representatives of Prakash and Anita Chandpoori president Women’s Wing Samooh Theatre said Udhyamo Bhairva -Kashmir Shiva Drishti – Connecting Gen Next is an effort in this direction.
They said a lot of work has already been initiated in this direction by many institutions and “to make this effort into a movement, we all have to contribute”. A political appreciation and social commitment is required to connect people with this movement of enlightenment, they added.
It is not typically a conference but an effort to compliment what is already being done. It is an attempt to start a public movement of carrying on the vision from one generation to another, and to bring it from an esoteric plan to an existential realization and a folk awareness about the same, they said.
The convention will be attended by well-known international scholars, artists and about 750 delegates. It seeks to proclaim the civilizational and strategic import of the Shaiva Sidhanta and its vision, they added.
Besides it will seek to proclaim the indigenous and fundamentally inclusive identity of Kashmir, they said, adding, it will be an attempt to make ourselves aware of the living reality of Kashmir Shaiva Darshan – how it has influenced our folk lore, poetry, arts and aesthetics.
Terming Kashmir Shaiva Darshan a great Philosophy, they said it is one of the great contributions of our ancestors to the human civilization. This vision treats the entire creation as divine, which is a fundamental basis of inclusiveness, oneness and eco-spiritual harmony.
