JAMMU, June 1: Prajapati(Kumhar) Sabha JKUT, Jammu organised a virtual meet under the chairmanship of its president, Ayoudia Kumar Manawa to pay floral tributes to Sant Ram B.A. on his 33rd death anniversary here.
Various speakers of the Prajapati community who participated in the meet paid their tributes to the great social reformer, poet, revolutionary who dedicated his life for the upliftment of the downtrodden and the elimination of untouchablity.
Sant Ram B.A was born on 14th February 1887 in village Purani Bassi, district Hoshiarpur Punjab. He died on May 31 in 1988. He qualified his graduation from Lahore University in 1909 and was awarded for his excellent performance. He was also awarded for his good knowledge and strong hold on Hindi language by the Punjab Government.
A book written by Dale Carneige “How to win Friends and influence people” was translated from English to Hindi by Sant Ram B.A.
To abolish caste system, he worked to establish his own organisation “Jat-Pat Todak Mandal” in 1922. He has authored Hindi books in Hindi.
His books are stored in a Sanskrit Library established by Punjab and Harryana Government at Hoshiarpur. His contribution for the elimination of untouchability and welfare of the downtrodden will always be remembered in the Indian history.
The prominent participants of the virtual meet were F.C. Satia , G.R. Dafaara, Madan Lal Baldotra, Jeet Singh Sangotra, Master Kartar Chand, Krishan Lal, Vijay Kumar etc.
