JAMMU, Nov 23: For a five-year term from 2025 to 2030, fresh elections for the zonal bodies, state president and general secretary of the J&K Prajapati (Kumhar) Sabha were held here today.
The nominations were filed by Ayodhya Kumar Manawa for the post of state president and Manga Ram for the post of general secretary.
Since no other nominations were submitted, both candidates were declared elected unopposed.
A K Manawa assumed the charge of state president, while Manga Ram taken over as general secretary of the Sabha.
Following his election, the newly appointed state president has been empowered, as per the Constitution of the Prajapati Sabha, to nominate members of the Central Working Committee and constitute other committees necessary for the efficient and seamless functioning of the Sabha.
The election in-charge expressed satisfaction over the smooth completion of the elections and extended best wishes to the newly elected leadership for their upcoming term.
