KATHUA, Dec 9: Police in Kathua district have detained wanted absconder Pradeep Ambedkariya under the Public Safety Act (PSA) for his repeated involvement in criminal and anti-social activities.
A police official said Ambedkariya was disturbing public order by making provocative statements and posting content that hurt religious sentiments.
He said multiple FIRs had been registered against him under various sections of the BNS along with several other adverse reports but he had been continuing his activities without fearing the law.
In order to prevent his illegal activities within the district, they said, a dossier was prepared against him and sent to District Magistrate Kathua for his detention under the PSA.
After the District Magistrate issued a detention warrant against the accused, Ambedkariya, a resident of Ward number 7, Kathua, presently living in Chack Desa Singh, was arrested today and accordingly shifted to District Jail Udhampur.
