POWERGRID organises inter college debate, Nukkad Natak

JAMMU, Oct 29: In an effort to emphasize the need for efficiency and transparency in public life and to create awareness among masses particularly among the youth, Power Grid Corporation of India (POWERGRID) here today organized an inter college debate competition on the topic ‘Vigilance: Our Collective Responsibility’ at Government MAM College.
About 16 students from various colleges participated in the debate competition and highlighted the evils of corruption and importance of morality in our education system, daily life and society at large.
Rabia Kouser and Ashok Kumar of Government MAM College, Jammu bagged first two spots whereas, Manit Verma of CLUJ, Jammu and Ridham of Government SPMR College received 3rd and consolation prize respectively.
Rakesh Saraf, General Manager (Commercial), Asutosh K Sharma, Sr. Deputy, General Manager (HR) POWERGRID and Prof. Ruth K Masehi were judges of the event.
Senior officers from POWERGRID including Harjinder Kumar, DGM (Vigilance), staff and faculty of MAM College were also present on the occasion.
In evening, a Nukkad Natak in association with Theatre Club, University of Jammu (JU) was staged at JU to highlight the virtues of integrity and vices of corruption.
The Nukkad Natak showcased how we can eradicate the menace of corruption with collective responsibility.
JU students and visitors watched the Nukkad Natak with keen interest.
Senior officers from POWERGRID including Asutosh K Sharma, Sr. Deputy General Manager (HR), Chairperson Uttsah (Theatre Club) of JU, Meena Sharma and other senior faculty members of JU were also present on this occasion.
