CHANDIGARH, Dec 26 : Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (POWERGRID) today formally handed over state-of-the-art medical imaging systems worth Rs 12.25 crore to the HomiBhabha Cancer Hospital & Research Centre (HBCHRC) in Chandigarh.
The equipment was officially presented by POWERGRID, to HBCHRC today in an impressive ceremony at HBCHRC, New Chandigarh.
This contribution, made under POWERGRID’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative, is set to significantly enhance diagnostic and interventional oncology services in North India.
The ceremony was attended by several senior dignitaries, including POWERGRID Independent Directors Shiv Tapasya Paswan, Sajal Jha and Rohit Vaswani, Jasbir Singh, Executive Director (CSR) and Tarun Bajaj, Executive Director (NR-II).
From HBCHRC its Director, Ashish Gulai and his entire team were present.
Speaking on the occasion, POWERGRID reprentatives affairmed that they are committed to strengthening India’s healthcare infrastructure.
“By providing these advanced diagnostic systems, POWERGRID aims to facilitate faster, more accurate diagnoses and improve the quality of cancer care in Punjab, ultimately reducing the need for patients to travel long distances for critical treatment,” they said.
Dr (Prof) Ashish Gulia, Director, HBCHRC on his part expressed his gratitude to POWERGRID for this CSR imitative of POWERGRID.
He said, “This support from POWERGRID represents a significant milestone for our facility. These tools will greatly enhance their interventional capabilities, bringing them closer to delivering world-class cancer care to the people of Punjab and neighboring states.”
The installation of these systems is expected to drastically reduce patient dependency on external diagnostic centers and streamline the treatment of complex oncology cases.
The hand-over includes two cutting-edge medical systems designed to improve patient outcomes through precision technology, Bi-Plane Digital Subtraction Angiography (DSA) System (Rs 5.75 Cr), a specialized system to support advanced neurovascular and interventional procedures and 128-Slice CT Scan Machine (Rs 6.50 Cr), a high-speed imaging solution that provides superior precision for cancer detection and treatment planning.
