KARGIL, Dec 17: In order to strengthen medical infrastructure in the area, Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (POWERGRID), handed over a 128 Slice CT Scan Machine to the CHC Sankoo in Kargil district of Ladakh today.
Under this CSR initiative POWERGRID has provided a 128-slice CT scanner along with the construction of necessary infrastructure at the Community Health Centre (CHC), Sankoo, Kargil.
This project is designed to strengthen healthcare facilities in one of the most remote and deserving regions of Ladakh.
The installation has significantly improved diagnostic capabilities and reduced dependency on the single CT scanner previously available at Kargil District Hospital.
The machine was handed over in presence of Dr Mohd Jaffer Akhoon, Chairman/ Chief Executive Councillor, LAHDC, Kargil by Tarun Bajaj, Executive Director, POWERGRID, Northern Region-II to Dr Kacho Liyaqat Ali Khan, CMO Kargil and Dr Zahida , BMO, Sankoo .
Valued at approximately Rs 9.45 crore, this advanced diagnostic equipment will significantly enhance healthcare delivery in Kargil district and adjoining regions.
The installation of the CT scanner at CHC Sankoo is expected to save approximately Rs 55 lakhs annually and serve as an alternative to the single machine at Kargil District Hospital, thereby benefiting the entire district.
Chairman/ Chief Executive Councillor, LAHDC, CMO Kargil and BMO Sankoo expressed deep appreciation to POWERGRID for this valuable contribution and encouraged continued collaboration in strengthening public health infrastructure across entire Kargil Province.
Aga Syed Ahmad Rizvi, Councillor LAHDC, Kargil, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Kargil, senior POWERGRID officers, the medical fraternity of Kargil and officers from UT Ladakh administration were also present during this handover ceremony.
