Power torture

Sir,
Oh, my god;  are  you  watching?  I am sure, you  must  also  not  be  comfortable  with  the miserable  plight  of  your   subjects  in  the extremely  tormenting  hot and  humid  temperature,  with  no  electricity  for  intermittent  cuts  of  short  and  long  hours during  days  and   nights  equally.  But ,  the authorities  responsible for the situation  insensitive  towards  peoples’ sufferings  as they are , care the least.  While long  cuts  go  up  to  more  than  three  hours, short  cuts  are  resorted  to intermittently  for  periods  varying  between  a  few minutes  to  an hour. When I was  writing  this piece, I failed  to  count   the  number  of  cuts  which  went  on after  every  two  or  three  minutes.
I  need not  explain  the  worst effects of the grim situation on each and every strata of society,  as all  suffer, some less, some more and some the most.  The  sufferers  without any distinction, include  infants, young, old, ill, disabled, male, female and students etc.  While I being  from Talab  Tillo  area,  believe  that  the situation  must  not  be  different  in  other  parts  of  Jammu   city  as well,  except  as  expected,  VVIP  areas  and  people.  Years  on,  the  big  fleet  of  work force  and  officials,  the  power development department   has  are  still  wanting  in  finding   out   solution  to  the  simple   problems  of  long / short  intermittent  power  cuts  and  low/poor  voltage, despite  spending  (as shows the statistics)  tones  of  money  on  improving  the  system.
The situation has become   more   grim   in   the  present regime  also,  and   end  of it is  nowhere  in  sight. This  time  we have  our  deputy  chief  and  power minister, who  is  also  only  second  in  command.  No  trace  of ” achhe din”  is seen.  Situation prevails  in  the   midst  of  tall   and  taller  claims  of  progress  and  development.
People have  been  left  to fend  for  themselves. What progress and development, where,  people don’t  have  the assured  basic  and  essential  facility  of  uninterrupted  power supply  even for  a  few hours,  what   to speak  of  twenty  four  hours  a  day? That appears to happen  only  in dreams.  Even after finishing writing this matter, I was not able to mail it for over three hours because of a long power cut.
Yours etc….
A.N.Zutshi.
