JAMMU, Nov 1: Power Grid Corporation of India Limited is observing Vigilance Awareness Week in its all offices falling under Northern Region Transmission System-II till November 5.
During the Vigilance Awareness Week, several programmes are being organized in various schools and colleges apart from site offices for creating awareness among the general masses, youth, employees and their family members highlighting evils of corruption and its impact on society.
At its NRTS-II Regional Headquarters Jammu, pledge was administered to all its employees by the Executive Director, Anil Jain. He impressed upon the employees to practice the virtues of integrity and honesty in all spheres of their lives.
Messages of President of India, Vice President of India, Prime Minister of India and Home Minister of India were read out by SD Joshi, General Manager (Projects), B Dash DGM (Finance), SJ Sharma, DGM (C&M) and R Narayan, Chief Manager (HR) respectively.
Messages released by Central Vigilance Commissioner KV Chowdary, Vigilance Commissioners  Rajiv and TM Bhasin on behalf of Central Vigilance Commission were read out by Sudhir Dhar, Manager (Vigilance).
A signature campaign to propagate the virtues of honesty and promote integrity was also launched by Anil Jain, Executive Director in which all employees participated.
An inter-school essay competition at Army Public School, Jammu Cantt was also organised to create awareness among students against menace of corruption as per the directives of Central Vigilance Commission. Students from Army public School, Jammu Cantt, Domana, Kaluchak and Ratnuchak participated in the.
On the occasion, Sudhir Dhar, Manager (Vigilance) Power Grid addressed the students and advised them to fight against corruption and follow the rule of the land so that they may not be compelled to pay corruption to the law enforcing authorities.
