JAMMU, Feb 16: R.V.S. Kushwaha, General Manager (Asset Management),  Power Grid, Northern Region-II handed over ambulances to district hospitals, Kathua and Samba today in an imprerssive function held at 400/220 kv Substation of Power Grid at Samba
Dr. S D Atri, Medical Superintendent, D H Kathua and Dr.  Harbaksh Singh, Medical Superintendent, D H Samba received the ambulances on behalf of District Hospital Kathua and District Hospital Samba respectively in presence of  senior doctors of both hospitals and senior officers of Power Grid including  Sanjay Gupta DGM(F&A,  S.J.Sharma, DGM (C&M), Lalit Mahajan, Chief Manager (Samba), Dr. J.S. Chouhan, Chief Manager, incharge-HR and  Raman, Chief Manager HR.
Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd.(Power Grid), realizing the indispensable role of ambulance services in emergency pre-hospital medical care, patient transfer, ease of access to health services particularly to rural / difficult areas has undertaken initiative of providing ambulances to Government hospitals / Medical colleges / Rural Health Centers as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program.
Power Grid has been donating  such ambulances to various Government hospitals across the country under its CSR initiative with the objective that it will strengthen the public health infrastructure, increase confidence of people in public healthcare services and enhanced utilization of public health infrastructure.
On this occasion  R.V.S Kushwaha said that Power Grid during the current financial year  has already donated the ambulances to the District Hospital, Udhampur, District Hospital, Bandipora, District Hospital, Kargil, District Hospital, Leh in the State.
Authorities of District Hospital Kathua and Samba expressed their gratitude  to Power Grid for its noble gesture and requested Power Grid to continue to support them in future as well.
