Potato futures recover 0.45 pc on spot demand

NEW DELHI, Feb 13: Potato prices recovered by 0.45 per cent to Rs 830.10 per quintal in futures trade today as speculators created fresh positions, driven by a rise in demand in the spot market against restricted arrivals.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, potato for delivery in March recovered by Rs 3.70, or 0.45 per cent, to Rs 830.10 per quintal in business turnover of 55 lots.
Likewise, the potato for delivery in April edged up by the same margin to Rs 821 per quintal in 18 lots.
Market analysts attributed the recovery in potato futures to speculators created fresh positions, driven by a rise in demand in the spot markets against restricted arrivals from producing regions. (PTI)
