Potato futures extend gains, up 0.29 pc on rising demand

NEW DELHI, Sept 6:  Potato prices continue to rise for the fifth straight day today gaining 0.29 per cent to Rs 790 per quintal in futures trade driven by rising demand in spot markets.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, potato for delivery in September added Rs 2.30, or 0.29 per cent to Rs 790 per quintal in business turnover of 6 lots.
Analysts said speculators enlarged their positions driven by rising demand in spot market.
Lower supplies from producing regions led to upward trend in potato prices at spot markets. (PTI)
