DODA, May 26: Police here today carried out destruction of poppy cultivation and wild cannabis in Bhaderwah, Doda and Gandoh areas at abandoned places.
In a handout Doda Police stated that a team of cops from Police Station Bhaderwah led by Inspector Jatinder Singh, SHO Bhaderwah carried out destruction drive for poppy cultivation and wild cannabis in Mathola area of Bhaderwah.
The destruction was carried out in the presence of Tehsildar Bhaderwah and other officers of Agriculture Department.
Similar destruction drive of poppy cultivation and wild cannabis was carried out at various abandoned places in Doda and Gandoh by police teams of Police Station Doda led by Inspector Arun Parkash, SHO Doda and Police team from Police Station Gandoh led by Inspector Vikram Singh, SHO Gandoh respectively.
The destruction drives were conducted in the presence of Executive Magistrates and other officers.
