Sir,
On change over of guard/command of JMC, it was expected that things would improve, so far cleanliness, sanitation and hygiene of the City of Temples, Jammu is concerned. But the situation apparently has gone from bad to worst, particularly in outer municipality wards i.e Greater Jammu as we call it. There are heaps and mountains of garbage, household filth, broken and chocked drains, ugly, dirty and broken inside lanes, small culverts, connecting roads etc every where in these new colonies. Safai karmacharies seldom come to clean drains, lanes, inside roads in these colonies particularly in JMC Ward No; 65, 66 and so on. Some people have purchased plots long back and kept these open, without at least a fencing wall [char diwari], thus making these plots dumping grounds for garbage etc. There are no arrangements for collection of garbage by municipality trucks, nor there are any garbage/dust bins placed by JMC authorities inside these colonies. All this has made life of inhabitants miserable. The summer season is fast approaching and flies, mosquitoes etc will start loitering on these garbage dumps. There is every possibility of spreading of diseases etc if proper sanitation, hygiene and cleanliness is not taken care of by JMC immediately.
JMC authorities are as such requested to please pay due attention to these problems at the earliest, place SKs in these colonies also regularly, place large size dust/garbage collection bins in these colonies at suitable places and to take remedial measures direct concerned plot holders to at least construct walls around their empty plots.
Yours etc….
