POONCH, Sept 15: Poonch District Hockey Championship, organized by Hockey Poonch under the aegies of Hockey J&K got underway here today.
Sunil Singh Sambyal, DYSSO Poonch was the chief guest on the occasion, while prominent among others present on the occasion were Nirdosh Kumar, Incharge Sports Stadium Poonch, Narjeet Singh ZPEO, Jasbir Kour ZPEO and Jasbir Singh PEM.
First match was played in senior category between Govt Degree College and Govt. Girls Hr Sec School Sheesh Mahal Poonch.
GDC Poonch beat GHSS Poonch by 2 goals to 1. For GDC Poonch, Sita netted the ball in 28th minute and Karnika in 45th minute, while for GHSS Poonch the goal was scored by Ishita during 20th minute of the match.
The matches were officiated by Vishal Sudan, Amandeep Sharma and Mukesh Kumar , while the Championship was organised under supervision of Sham Lal Sharma, retired SAI Hockey coach and vice president of Hockey J&K.
