JAMMU, Nov 5: Kashmiri Pandits have urged the Government to formulate a concrete policy for dignified return and rehabilitation of exiled pundits in Kashmir Valley.
In a joint statement issued today by Socio -political activists of the community, Vinod Pandita and Sunil Pandita have appealed to all the political parties to come forward and discharge their assigned role in return and rehabilitation of Seven Lakh Kashmiri Pandits uprooted by Pakistan sponsored terrorists and anti nationals in 1989-90 from Kashmir Valley, back to their ancestral place as well pave a smooth way in this direction.
They have also appealed Prime Minister and Home Minister of India to formulate a concrete return and rehabilitation policy for permanent settlement of Kashmiri migrants back in Valley with honour and dignity as their exile period has crossed more than three decades and they are still struggling hard in exile for their survival and permanent settlement.
They said KPs living an exiled life outside Valley for 36 years far away from their native places in Kashmir are craving for their return and rehabilitation in their homeland in Kashmir. The community is still unsettled, facing countless problems in the exodus on many fronts like one of the most important issue of their honorable return and rehabilitation back to Valley with honour and dignity is still awaited for want of tangible and concrete rehabilitation policy which is a matter of serious concern and agony. The displaced community of about seven lakh is still out of Valley which puts a big question mark on all the political parties who have never bothered seriously to think about their welfare and rehabilitation back in Valley with honour and dignity, they added.
