JAMMU, Apr 14: Various political, social and other organizations organised many functions across the State in connection with the 125th birth anniversary of Dr Bhim Rao Ambedkar today.
The BJP commenced the 125th birth anniversary of Bharat Rattan Baba Sahib Dr B R Ambedkar celebration by organising various functions and programmes spread over next 10 days in the entire country. BJP State chief Sat Sharma initiated the 10-day long programme in the State by presiding over the largely attended function namely “National Integration Day” organised by BJP State SC Morcha at Megh Saddar Sabha, Old Rehari, Jammu.
While paying tributes to the portrait of Dr Ambedkar, Sat Sharma recalled the contribution of Bhim Rao Ambedkar and described him as architect of Indian Constitution. He said Dr Ambedkar was also a great social reformer and legal luminary. He was a towering national leader who contributed immensely to the social awakening and economic emancipation of most suppressed segments of the Indian society.
MP Jugal Kishore presided over in yet another function held at Nowshera today. MLA Ravinder Raina and MLC, Vivodh Gupta were also present. They paid rich tributes to Dr Ambedkar. Ashok Koul, State general secretary (Org) was the chief guest in yet another function held in Samba today. MLA RS Pura Dr Gagan Bhagat in two separate functions held at RS Pura and Miran Sahib paid rich tributes to Baba Sahib and recapped his contributions for the SC community and other deprived sections of society. He was accompanied by BJP general secretary Dr Narinder Singh. ABVP also organised a separate function in this connection in which MoS Priya Sethi was the chief guest.
MLA Ramnagar, R S Pathania paid floral tributes to Dr Ambdekar in a function held at Khoon today. Local unit of All India Confederation of SC/ST/OBC Organisations members organised the function. Mr Pathania while paying tributes highlighted the role and contribution of the Dr Ambedkar.
Minister for Industries Chander Parkash Ganga launched “Gram Uday Se Bharat Uday Abhiyan” at Kartholi in connection with the birth anniversary of Dr Ambedkar. While paying tributes to Baba Sahib, the minister recalled his contributions for the society and upliftment of poor and down trodden members of the society. MoS Education Priya Sethi paid floral tributes to Dr Ambedkar in a function held at Ved Mandir here. She referred to the role of Dr Ambedkar as social reformer and stressed the need of women empowerment.
Pradesh Congress Committee members paid floral tributes to Dr B R Ambedkar at a function held at Jamboo Lochan Hall here today. PCC president G A Mir while speaking on the occasion highlighted the role of Dr Ambedkar and described him as great luminary and social reformer. He described Dr Ambedkar as an architect of Indian Constitution. Mir said Congress has implemented the philosophy and ideology of Dr Ambedkar by providing representation to the SCs, STs, women in various democratic institutions.
Former DyCM Tara Chand, senior leaders Sham Lal Sharma, Mula Ram (chairman of the celebration committee), Jahangir Mir, Raman Bhalla, Aijaz Ahmed Khan, Kanta Bhan, Asgar Karbalai, Ch Akram, Ravinder Sharma, Swarn Lata, Rajnish Sharma, Balwan Singh, Dr Manohar Lal, Yogesh Sawhney, Faqir Nath, Indu Pawar, Shiv Kumar Sharma, Manjit Singh, Shah Mohd, Anil Chopra, Maheshwar Singh, Pranav Shagotra, G L Chalotra, Ashwani Puri, RL Bharti, Ashok Dogra and many others paid tributes to Dr Ambedkar.
J&K National Conference paid glowing tributes to Bharat Ratna Baba Sahib Dr B R Ambedkar, describing him as an ambassador of peace and Messiah of down-trodden who relentlessly worked for social justice and equality.
The function was organized by SC/OBC Cell chairman Babu Rampaul on the occasion 125th Birth Anniversary Dr Ambedhkar . Senior leaders while paying floral tributes to the architect of Constitution of India, additional general secretary Dr Sheikh Mustafa Kamaal and chairman SC/OBC Cell Mr Pal said that best tribute to Baba Sahib would be to work for strengthening bonds of amity and brotherhood between various segments of society.
Senior leaders Rattan Lal Gupta, Kashmir Singh, Sheikh Bashir Ahmad, Qazi Jalal-ud-Din, Bushan Lal Bhat, Dharamveer Singh Jamwal , Mohinder Singh, Pardeep Bali, Vijay Lochan, Abdul Gani Teli and others were also present.
Bahujan Samaj Party organised a function to mark 125th birth anniversary of Dr Bhim Rao Ambedkar at Satwari today. State president of the party Tarsem Khullar was the chief guest while State vice president S R Majotra presided over. A large number of BSP activists attended the function and paid rich tributes to Bhim Rao Ambedkar. Dev Dildar & party renowned singer enthralled the gathering with missionary songs.
The speakers highlighted the contributions of Dr Bhim Rao Ambedkar for the country and SC community in particular. They also described him as architect of Indian constitution and great legal luminary. They said the poor and down trodden members of the society could get justice only with the efforts of Dr Ambedkar. Senior leaders R L Chargotra, R K Bhagat, Jagdish Verma, T D Langeh, Piran Ditta, Som Nath (Ex-MLA), K L Attri, Hari Chand Thappa, Raj Kumar Thappa, Ajaib Singh Motton were also present.
NPP Delhi unit organised a programme in connection with the birth anniversary of Dr Ambedkar at Jantar Mantar where large number of party workers paid their floral tributes to Dr Bhim Rao Ambedkar. Chief patron of the party Prof Bhim Singh addressed the gathering and highlighted the contributions of Dr Ambedkar. Zonal president of NPP Neeraj Gupta organised yet another function at Ambedkar Chowk here today and greeted people on this occasion. The NPP activists paid rich tributes to Dr Ambedkar.
All India Confederation of SC/ST/OBC Organisations led by R K Kalsotra took out a march in this connection from Ambedkar Park Resham Ghar Colony to Ambedkar Chowk Rail Head here today. Minister for Animal Husbandry A G Kohli flagged off the march. A large number of employees participated in the march. A large number of employees from reserved categories attended the programme.
At Ambedkar Chowk, Rail Head Complex, Chairman Legislative Council Anayat Ali and Forest Minister Ch Lal Singh joined them and paid floral tributes to the statue of Dr B R Ambedkar. They also addressed the large gathering and highlighted the role of Bhim Rao Ambedkar.
Guru Ravi Dass Sabha led by Piran Ditta paid tributes to Dr Ambedkar and appealed the people to follow the foot steps of Baba Sahib.
All India Back Ward Classes Union (Social) celebrated birth anniversary of Bhim Rao Ambedkar in a function held at Kulgam in Kashmir today. Sajjad Hussain Ahangar district president Kulgam presided over the programme while Abdul Majid Malik – president was the chief guest on the occasion. They projected the contributions of Dr Bhim Rao Ambedkar.
NCP’s state unit led by former minister Th Randhir Singh paid rich tributes to Dr Ambedkar and described him an able jurist, political leader, philosopher, economist and anthropologist. He said Ambedkar was the author of Indian constitution. He also referred to Dr Ambedkar’s role in the upliftment of poor and down trodden members of the society.
Ambedkar Club paid homage to Baba Sahib Bhim Rao Ambedkar on his birth anniversary at Dogra Sadar Sabha Hall here today. The programme commenced with Bhim Vandana, followed by skit on the life of Dr Ambedkar and a cultural programme. Several speakers expressed their views over the role of Dr Ambdekar.
Prominent among those included Dr Mohan K Attri, Dr Rajesh Bhagat, Manmeet Motton, Dr Jaswant Singh, Gian Chand Dogra and Sunit Bangotra.
All J&K Batwal Welfare Association organised a programme in connection with the birth anniversary of Baba Sahib Bhim Rao Ambedkar at village Ban in Akhnoor today. A large number of Batwal community members attended the function, under the chairmanship of Sub Major Ramesh Sargotra. The speakers including Dr Faqir Chand, Capt Darbari Lal, Capt Jamal Dass Kaith, Baldev Chand Sandhu highlighted the contributions of Dr Ambedkar.
All Reserved Category Employees Association Poonch celebrated the occasion by paying floral tributes to the portrait of Baba Sahib Ambedkar. The function was held under the leadership of Ch Mohd Asad Noomani while Prof Fateh Mohd Abbasi was the chief guest.
Department of Students Welfare, University of Jammu in collaboration with National Service Scheme Campus Unit paid tributes to Dr B R Ambedkar by organizing a symposium on the topic “Role of Dr BR Ambedkar in shaping Modern India” to commemorate the 125th birth anniversary of Dr Ambedkar at the University of Jammu. Students from different colleges and the departments of the University of Jammu participated in this event and paid tributes to Baba Sahib Bhim Rao Ambedkar through presentations.
Sangpriya from GCW Parade, Afshan from GCW, Gandhi Nagar and Sanam from Department of Sociology, University of Jammu stood first, second and third, respectively. Prof Indu Kilam and Dr Savita Nayyar were the judges for the event.
Prof Jigar Mohammad, Dean Research Studies and chief guest at the valedictory function, complimented the participants and felicitated the winners.
Student Educational Movement Kargil also organised a seminar to mark the birth anniversary of Baba Sahib Bhim Rao Ambedkar. DC Kargil Kacho Hassan Khan was the chief guest while ADC as guest of honour. Several students and other senior members spoke on the subject.
Meanwhile, National Incredible Literacy Mission Jammu celebrated the birth anniversary of Dr Bhim Rao Ambedkar at Patel Bazar here today. Senior members of the NGO including Rakeshwar Singh, Vishal Sharma, and others paid rich tributes to Dr Ambedkar and projected his contributions.
Meanwhile, Jammu Kashmir Reserve Categories Employees Association (JKRCEA), in collaboration with Dr BR Ambedkar Educational Society (BRAES), celebrated Bhim Rao Ambedkar’s birth anniversary with great pomp and show at Bari Brahmana. The function was organised at Ambedkar Bhawan, Bari Brahamna, where a rally for unity was taken out. A large number of people from Samba, Vijaypur, Ramgarh, Bishnah, Jammu etc participated. Many bike riders and cars/ jeeps joined the rally.
The long rally after travelling through Bari Brahmna culminated at Ambedkar Bhawan where a seminar on life and mission of Babasaheb was organised alongside cultural performances by Romalo Ram and group. Captain (Rtd) Hari Chand was chief guest on the occasion & president JKRCEA, Dr Sanjay Bhasin guest of honour. The speakers highlighted the role of Bhim Rao Ambedkar and asked people to get his dream fulfilled with their collective efforts.
