Political appointments violation of Election Code: PCC

JAMMU, Mar 10: Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) has alleged that political appointments made by the PDP-BJP Coalition is sheer violation of Election Code of conduct.
In a press statement issued here today chief spokesperson of PCC,  Ravinder Sharma said that Election Commission should take suo motto action on the political appointments made by the Coalition Government, especially the BJP for accommodating its  people in the State.
He said that Chief Electoral Officer  had already announced his decision to go ahead with the Lok Sabha by-elections in Kashmir as appeared in the section of media.   The appointments made in the hush hush manner at this stage is clear violation of the Election Code. The Election Commission must take cognizance of the matter. It appeared to be a nervous reaction from the Chief Minister, Mehbooba Mufti, he added.
Mr Sharma further alleged that State Government  on  one hand do not have money to pay the salaries/ wages  of the daily rated/ consolidated and casual workers who are on agitation since long and on the other hand , they are exerting extra burden on the public exchequer by making more and more political appointments. He termed the move as unfortunate and unjustified.
