Srinagar, Nov 14: The Police Station Nowgam in Srinagar was blown up during the night shaking the entire area with the impact of the blast and multiple casualties are feared.
An official said that a massive blast took place inside the Police Station Nowgam in Srinagar where an investigation team accompanied by a Magistrate were inspecting the explosives recovered from the recently busted terror module.

Huge quantity of explosive mostly ammonium nitrate that was recovered from Faridabad from the module was brought here as investigation into the case was going on.
Such was the impact of the blast that it was heard across Srinagar. Several vehicles parked in and outside the Police Station caught fire and the Police Station building was blown up. Several adjacent houses were also damaged.
Ambulances and Fire and Emergency Services rushed to the spot and injured were shifted to SMHS hospital Srinagar and Srinagar Base hospital at BB Cantt.
The official said that there are multiple casualties due to the impact of the blast.
It was this Police Station in the jurisdiction of which the posters of the Jaish-e-Mohammad appeared last week. The investigation later led to busting of the interstate transnational terror module and seven persons including doctors were arrested initially.
Those arrested are Arif Nisar Dar alias Sahil of Nowgam, Srinagar; Yasir-ul-Ashraf of Nowgam, Srinagar; Maqsood Ahmad Dar alias Shahid of Nowgam, Srinagar; Molvi Irfan Ahmad (Imam of Masjid) of Shopian; Zameer Ahmad Ahanger alias Mutlashaof Wakura Ganderbal, Dr. Muzammil Ahmad Ganaie alias Musaib of Koil, Pulwama and Dr. Adeel of Wanpora, Kulgam.
The Delhi suicide bomber Umar Nabi was believed to be part of the module. Over 500 people were questioned in the case so far with Police Station Nowgam being centre of all this.
Besides arms and ammunition, 2900 kgs of explosives and IED making material was recovered from Faridabad. It was later brought to Police Station Nowgam as investigation of the case was going on here.
