Srinagar, Mar 24: Police in Budgam have solved three theft cases, arrested the accused and recovered stolen property worth around Rs 6 lakh, officials said today.
According to police, multiple complaints regarding thefts were received over the past few months at Police Station Budgam, following which FIR Nos. 31/2026, 34/2026 and 50/2026 were registered and investigations taken up.
During the probe, analysis of CCTV footage and technical evidence led to the identification and arrest of the accused persons.
Police said the accused, during questioning, confessed to their involvement in multiple thefts from residential houses.
Based on their disclosures, stolen items including copper utensils, electronic gadgets and other household goods were recovered.
All the accused have been taken into custody, while further investigation is underway to ascertain their involvement in other cases, police said.
