Police solves temple theft case

UDHAMPUR, Apr 30: Udhampur Police today solved temple theft case and arrested the accused besides recovering stolen idols and cash.
The theft had taken place at Bagla Mukhi Mandir, Main Bagh Udhampur on April 28-29 and the burglars decamped with silver idols and cash from donation box. In this regard, a case FIR under relevant section of law was registered in Police Station Udhampur.
Taking cognizance of the matter, a special police team led by SHO Udhampur Raghuvir Singh was constituted to solve the case and nab the culprits. During the investigation, several suspects were rounded up by the police team and put to sustained questioning.
One such suspect, namely Rahul Sharma, son of Hans Raj of Ward number 17, near Santoshi Mata Mandir Udhampur, confessed his involvement in the said case and was therefore arrested by the Police team.
On the confession of the arrested accused, stolen property has been recovered by the police team and further investigation into the matter is in progress.
