Police solve theft case in Gajansoo, recover Rs 40,000

JAMMU, June 16: Jammu and Kashmir Police have cracked a theft case in the Gajansoo area under the jurisdiction of Police Station Kanachak and recovered Rs 40,000 in stolen cash.
One accused has been arrested, and a juvenile involved in the case has been apprehended.
A police official said that the case was registered on a written complaint by Naresh Manhas, wife of Kuldeep Singh, a resident of Galwadey Chak, regarding theft at Sahib Bandgi Ashram in Galwadey Chak.
Accordingly, he said, police registered a case FIR number 145/2024 under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita at Kanachak Police Station.
He further said that a team from BPP Gajansoo, led by PSI Maroof Ahmed, carried out the investigation and identified the accused as Govind Ram alias Kalu of Bhullay Chak, Tehsil Marh.
A juvenile, whose name has been withheld due to legal provisions, was also apprehended, he said.
“Both confessed to the crime during questioning, leading to the recovery of the full stolen amount,” the police official said.
“The juvenile has been shifted to the Juvenile Observation Home in RS Pura,” added the police official.
