Srinagar, Dec 3: Police today seized vehicle of Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) Javaid Hassan Beigh during a special drive against traffic violators in North Kashmir’s Baramulla town.
Superintendent of Police (SP) Rural, Shalendra Mishra, told Excelsior that during a “special drive” against traffic violators they seized the vehicle of Beigh, who is a PDP MLA from Baramulla, for lack of documents. “The Bolero vehicle of Beigh too was seized for not having documents,” he said. The MLA, however, was not present in the vehicle. Sources said the vehicle was also without number plate.
The SP said that during the drive they challaned 480 vehicles while Rs 93,000 rupees fine was realized from violators. “Similar drive was conducted in Anantnag yesterday and we will continue this in upcoming days. We are going to be very tough against violators,” he said.
