Police return 74 recovered mobile phones worth over Rs 15L to owners

KATHUA, Nov 10: Jammu and Kashmir Police in Kathua district today handed over 74 mobile phones worth over Rs 15 lakh to their rightful owners.
Speaking with the media persons here, SSP Kathua, Mohita Sharma, said that the recovered phones-including three i-Phones-were traced from different parts of the district after being reported lost or stolen at various Police Stations.
She later handed over the recovered devices to the owners during a function held at the District Police Headquarters.

The SSP further said that the Cyber Police Station Kathua has also recovered a defrauded amount of over Rs 12 lakh by solving multiple cyber complaints registered during the month of September and October this year.
According to her, during the current year so far, the Cyber Police Station Kathua has recovered over Rs 68 lakh defrauded amount from the fraudsters.
“And since the establishment of the Cyber Police Station in Kathua, the police have recovered an amount of over Rs 1.18 Crore from the fraudsters,” she said.
The SSP Kathua also urged the citizens to promptly report lost or stolen items for quicker recovery and action.
