KATHUA, Dec 20: Kathua police under the overall supervision of SSP, R C Kotwal, today rescued five bovines in the jurisdiction of Police Station (PS) Hiranagar near NHW, Londi Morh, Naka Point, arrested two persons and seized the vehicle involved in bovine smuggling.
Police said a police team led by Inspector, Yash Paul Sharma, SHO PS, Hiranagar under the supervision of SDPO Border, Sachit Mahajan while on naka checking duty at NHW Londi Morh Naka point intercepted one suspicious vehicle bearing Registration Number, JK02AG-6632 which was driven by person namely Aijaz Ahmed Khatana, son of Rafaqat Ali Khatana who was along with his accomplice namely Yasser Ali son of Liaqat Ali both residents Kashwan tehsil, Kokernag district, Anantnag.
During checking of the vehicle, five bovines were found loaded in it mercilessly. Thereafter all the bovines were rescued, two persons were arrested and vehicle was seized. In this connection a case has been registered at PS Hiranagar vide FIR No. 163/2021 U/S 188/IPC, 11/PCA Act while further investigation into this matter has been set into motion.
