POONCH, June 8: The police has registered an FIR in connection with the missing/ tampering of Revenue record in Tehsil Haveli of district Poonch today.
Official sources said that on the written complaint of Tehsildar Haveli, Anjum Bashir Khattak, the police today registered a case FIR No. 140/ 2021 under Section 380 IPC at Poonch Police Station. A special team has been constituted to conduct thorough inquiry into the matter.
Sources revealed that it was came to the notice of Tehsildar Haveli through some Revenue officials that record pertaining to some prime lands in and around Poonch town was missing. After in house investigation by Tehsildar, it was further noticed that there was tempering in the office record as well.
The matter was then taken up with the Deputy Commissioner Poonch and the Assistant Commissioner Revenue. It was suspected that some insiders were hand in glove with some land mafia people and were working on their behest.
Taking cognizance of the matter, the District Administration directed Tehsildar Haveli to lodge an FIR, which was registered today. The police said investigation was in progress. Some arrests are likely in near future.
