JAMMU, Jan 20: The police today arrested three persons in Kallar area of Rajouri and recovered 35 gms of heroin from their possession.
Official sources said that a team, under the supervision of Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Rajouri, Gaurav Sikarwar, led by SHO Rajouri Abid Hussain Shah , during routine vehicle and pedestrian checking at Kallar Nakka, intercepted a Tampo Traveller, bearing registration number JK01W 2023 traveling from Jammu towards Poonch.
The vehicle, which had a driver and two individuals, was stopped for checking. Upon noticing the police the individuals began acting suspiciously raising doubts. A thorough personal search of all the three was conducted which led to the recovery of 35 grams of heroin from their possession.
During questioning, the accused disclosed their identities as Javid Ahmed, son of Abdul Ghani, a resident of Samote in Surankot Poonch; Abdul Aziz, son of Allah Ditta, resident of Pamrote in Surankot, and Umar Nazir, son of Nazir Hussain, a resident of Draba, Surankot Poonch.
In this regard, a case under FIR No. 35/2025 under Sections 8/21/22/25/29 of the NDPS Act has been registered at PS Rajouri. All three accused have been arrested, and further investigation is underway to ascertain the backward and forward linkages of the contraband.
