JAMMU, July 16: Police in RS Pura area here recovered a lost purse containing cash and important documents within 24 hours and handed it back to its rightful owner.
A police official said that on July 15, one Raghbir Singh Khajuria, a resident of Badyal Brahmana in RS Pura, reported the loss of his purse containing Rs 15280 in cash, ATM card, Aadhaar Card, PAN card, and driving license.
Acting swiftly on the complaint, he said, a team led by SHO RS Pura, Ravi Singh Parihar, was constituted to trace the missing items.
Using CCTV footage, technical inputs, and local intelligence, the police recovered the purse with Rs 15, 280 in cash and all the documents within a day, he said.
According to him, the recovered items were returned to the owner, who thanked the Jammu and Kashmir Police for their prompt and efficient action.
