RAMBAN, Dec 26: Police has successfully traced and recovered 45 lost mobile phones, collectively valued at around Rs 7 lakh and handed them over to their rightful owners. The recovered phones had been reported missing at different police stations across Jammu and Kashmir as well as outside the UT.
The recovery operation was carried out by a dedicated team of Cyber Police Station Ramban, led by Inspector Ashiq Hussain, using advanced technical tools and a systematic investigative approach. The team has been working under the guidance of SSP Ramban Arun Gupta, while the overall functioning is supervised by Deputy SP Headquarters Ramban, Viqar Younus Batt.
After completing all necessary verification formalities, the recovered mobile phones were restored to their legitimate owners.
Pertinently, since the establishment of the Cyber Police Station/Cyber Cell in District Ramban in 2024, the unit has traced, recovered and restored a total of 195 lost or missing mobile phones, collectively worth approximately Rs 30 lakh.
